18 Jan Oil as a cleanser
As you lovely people know or see through the products section on my website I am passionate about making chemical free aromatherapy products, initially this started as wanting to make my own products to use during the treatments here at Sanity but clients started to ask could they purchase these for home use, how could I refuse :-). This weekend I made up a cleanser now you may not have read or know that the best cleanser to remove makeup is an oil based product, as oil lifts oil but it just doesn’t sound right does it. Over the weekend I’ve felt run down had a banging headache so I thought RIGHT some Me Time, I made myself up a 1 part Jojoba 1 part Monoi Tiki oil cleanser with the added properties of vitamin E and my favourite facial essential oil Neroli. I massaged this into my face using the marma points stimulated during Indian Head and after this heated a cloth and lay that over my face opening up the pores to take in the oil. Lush. I finished off with my coffee scrub lightly exfoliating and lifted off and today my skin is amazing. It’s this type of treatment I will be offering for facials but with all treatments at Sanity you are covered from an insurance point by proper training and affiliation by the FHT. Keep an eye on my blogs as once the training is completed for facials this is the type of luxury you can expect from Sanity.
Silliness, Reflection and Frustrations
Did you know today is supposed to be the most depressing day of the year, apparently it’s the combination of the Christmas debt, dark days and cold weather and the thought of the year ahead. Depressing huh? Totally! Why waste our time being down about whats ahead, we should be grateful that we have woken, no serious illness and another day ahead of exciting things, however it’s very hard to be that positive I do get that but you must try to focus on what’s good around you, not dwell on what’s not that good. I’m a fine one to speak spent way too many years of my life literally just being anxious, depressed angry with the world what did it achieve? Nothing. My life changed when I looked hard at it, looked hard at my behaviour and really tried to look at me though others eyes, it wasn’t a good sight, it was something I had promised myself never to become – an empty shell of someone just existing. I guess you have to experience the lowest of the lows to bounce back up but why is that I ask, why couldn’t I just take in all the good stuff around me and just appreciate. That’s what gets me through now, if I find myself in a daily routine that feels like a massive bind then I look to change it, if I find myself in a situation that is just draining the life out of me I look to change it. Holistic and beauty industry is a great way of taking that stress out of your life as you can focus on your clients needs, having the training the knowledge and the confidence to deliver a top quality treatment/product and see the physical and emotional effects it has on my clients is like therapy itself. Giving something back makes you feel better about the world, next time you feel that down, go take a walk by the river, watch the calmness of the water, look at the reflection of the trees, breathe and look to the sky, the world isn’t such a bad place after all 🙂
