Essential Oils and the Olfactory System.

Essential Oils and the Olfactory System.

Well being is something that some of us cherish and others have heard the term but most of us hardly ever take the time to invest in it.

Taking time for massage is as important for people dealing with depression due to lowering cortisol levels as it is for people dealing with arthritis, sports injuries or just the relaxation.  Cortisol is the body’s response to stress, and massage therapy lowers it by as much as 50%. At the same time, massage also can increase the levels of serotonin and dopamine, which are both neurotransmitters that help stabilise your mood.  At Sanity the added bonus of using essential oils stimulates the Olfactory system, our sense of smell which triggers memories, and our associated feeling with that smell add to the overall Well Being delivered during any massage. Come and give Sanity a try, I am experienced enough to tailor a massage depending on your treatment aim, for example if your neck and back is tight lets spend your time on that chosen area.  All treatments at Sanity come with a consultation before we start so discuss with me what you need and it will be delivered.

Silliness, Reflection and Frustration

The schools are back, and as much as I love my kids it’s hard running a business getting new products out there and cooking, cleaning and general skivvy 🙂  One day I took my 13 year old daughter and friend to the shops in MK, the new interchange by MK Dons, it’s a teenagers paradise.  What struct me was how grown up and supportive the girls were to each other, they had decided that in order to get them out of their comfort zone they would chose outfits for each other and after spending over an hour in the changing rooms they both had done a great job.  So grown up, but then again so much choice, I was remembering back in my day there wasn’t much choice, I do remember the day when Chelsea Girl came to Bedford, and Dorothy Perkins has always been a stable but in one row alone in MK there was H&M, River Island, Next, Primark, New Look, M&S literally paradise for 13 year old girls (and me to be perfectly honest).
