15 Mar Ear Candling (Thermal Auricular Therapy) at Sanity
Hands up who is suffering with this cough, sore throat and temp bug? Well my little boy has the virus in his ears and from the bookings that are coming through it seems that a lot of you are suffering with ear and sinus issues. I thought it would be a good idea to discuss Ear Candling or Thermal Auricular therapy to call it’s proper name and as I have just had a delivery of candles why not take advantage of the 45 minutes of relief, warmth and relaxation at Sanity.
The ear candle is gently placed inside the ear which creates a moderate suction action in the ear and manipulates the tympanic membrane and draws away any impurities, this suction also stimulates the ear, nose and throat to reduce congestion and gives a feeling of tranquility and comfort. The concentrated vapour enriched with herbs (essential oil are absorbed in the candle during the manufacturing process) is deposited in the ear canal, which is protecting and soothing,the movement of the flame sends tiny vibrations to the ear drum and massages it which helps to balance pressure.
The following phases are experienced during the process;
Creeping phase – mild feeling of suction,
Chimney phase – vibration of the rising air column massages the air drum
Intensive phase – regulates pressure, light relieved feeling.
The local heat and change of pressure stimulates the surrounding blood circulation which intensifies the immune system and the cleansing action of the lymph glands.
Once the candles have been used in both ears Sanity performs a sinus drainage massage and scalp massage, this benefits the treatment as encourages the movement of mucus, and relaxes the surrounding ear, nose and throat muscles.
Sanity offers Ear Candling for £25, it’s highly recommended to have a treatment plan of three ear candling sessions the second session would be two weeks after the first and the final treatment four weeks after the second, Sanity offers this treatment plan of three sessions for £65 saving you £10 if booked together instead of three individual sessions.
