Sanity Aromatherapy Products

Success was the name of the day yesterday 🙂  Perfected the lemon and lime body butter it truly is smooth and luxurious now and I was wondering why I’m not tempted to make with other essential oils and then it dawned on me.  I make products that I want myself and many years ago I was obsessed with Dermalogica (still am if truth be told as it’s the only product out there that doesn’t react with my skin) and they have an awesome lemongrass body lotion and was the inspiration behind my own body butter.  I’m always interested in hearing about what my lovely clients would like to see so email me should you have any suggestions.  The next success was the coffee scrub!  I made a small batch of 1 part coconut oil, 1 part jojoba oil 1 part coffee grains, 1 part brown sugar and a 2% dilution of black pepper, my lovely friend came round yesterday and she’s a hard cookie to please, she’s worked in the Beauty and Holistic industry for many many years, she was my mentor during my training and is a wonderful support and keen tester of my products.  I applied the scrub to her legs and feet and hot mit towel the scrub off and both of us were surprised just how soft and silky the skin felt!  Our observations were that if you don’t like coffee you won’t like this product the smell is a wonderful woody coffee aroma mixed with the coconut makes it yummy.  The tone of the skin was noticeably improved and I can’t wait to use this product within my pedicures as it’s going to be a knockout!  Today I need to consider an alternative as not everyone likes coffee so it will be a lemongrass and grapefuit sea salt scrub which is the stable diet of the body scrub world, having worked in a hotel spa the natural spa factory lemongrass scrub is very popular and that is also behind my inspiration for the Sanity product.

Silliness and Reflection

Well the world of Jo is always going to be slightly bias towards the silliness because my life just seems to provide many opportunities for set backs or looking more positively lessons learnt 🙂  So on behalf of my poor suffering husband I’ve agreed to put my hands up and admit in my blog that I have successfully managed to block our drains by pouring hot wax down the plug hole!  Now it wasn’t quite as deliberate as that sounds, the bowl slipped off the drainer and bingo all the wax has now hardened fast in the waste and my dishwasher decided enough was enough and spat all it’s water out over my kitchen floor!  So a £17 bottle of industrial strength drain cleaner, many apologies to my husband and feeling like a scolded child I admit my mistake BUT if it’s good enough for the Government it’s good enough for me – Lessons will be learned!
